Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Welcome to Literary Filth. These terms apply when you browse our website or purchase products from our online shop. Please read them before placing an order.
1. About us
This website is operated by Literary Filth, an independent UK business operated by a sole trader.
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Literary Filth.
Email: LiteraryFilth@gmail.com
Our legal business identity and geographic business address are available on our Business Information page.
2. Products and descriptions
We aim to describe and photograph our products as accurately as possible. Please read each product description carefully, including dimensions, materials, colour choices and personalisation options.
Colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen and device. Minor variations may occur in materials and finishes.
These variations do not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty or not as described.
3. Prices and payment
All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£), unless stated otherwise. Applicable taxes and delivery charges will be shown as required before you place your order.
Delivery is charged at our stated UK rate, currently £3.25 per order.
Available payment methods will be displayed at checkout. Orders must be paid for using an accepted payment method before we begin processing them, unless otherwise agreed.
We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing or listing errors. If an error affects an order you have placed, we will contact you before proceeding.
4. Placing an order
When you place an order, please check your items, quantities, delivery details and any personalisation instructions carefully.
Your order confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order. If we cannot accept or fulfil an order, we will contact you and arrange a refund where payment has already been taken.
We may decline or cancel an order where there is a legitimate reason, such as a product being unavailable or an obvious pricing error. We will not use these terms to remove your statutory rights.
5. Made-to-order and personalised products
Many Literary Filth products are handmade or made to order. Please allow 3–5 working days for dispatch, unless a different timeframe is stated on the product listing or agreed with you.
For personalised products, please check all spelling, wording, colours and customisation options carefully before placing your order.
If you notice an error in your personalisation instructions, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes, but cannot guarantee amendments once production has started.
Made-to-order products: Products made after an order is placed, but not personalised or made to the customer's individual specifications, generally remain eligible for the standard statutory cancellation rights.
Personalised products: Products made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised may be exempt from the standard 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right, as permitted by law.
These exceptions do not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty, damaged or not as described.
6. Delivery
We currently deliver to addresses in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) only. We do not currently offer delivery to Northern Ireland or international destinations.
Our standard delivery charge is £3.25 per order.
Most orders are prepared and dispatched within 3–5 working days, unless otherwise stated on the product listing or agreed with you.
Dispatch times and delivery times are separate. Delivery estimates depend on the postal service and are not guaranteed unless expressly agreed.
We are responsible for your order until it is delivered to you or a person you have nominated to receive it, in accordance with applicable consumer law.
If your order is delayed, lost or arrives damaged, please contact us with your order number so we can investigate and arrange an appropriate resolution.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights, including your rights where goods are not delivered within the legally required timeframe.
7. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Your statutory consumer rights apply to all purchases.
For most standard, non-personalised goods purchased online, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.
Products made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised may be exempt from the usual change-of-mind cancellation right. Standard products do not become exempt simply because they are made to order.
Where a valid cancellation applies, refunds, return postage costs and applicable delivery charge refunds will be handled in accordance with UK consumer law.
If an item is faulty, damaged or not as described, your statutory rights remain unaffected, including for personalised products.
For full details of how to cancel an order, arrange a return and receive a refund, please see our Shipping & Returns page.
8. Wholesale enquiries
We offer wholesale on selected products. Wholesale orders may be subject to separate pricing, minimum quantities, availability and terms agreed with the customer.
Please contact us before placing a wholesale order to discuss the available options. These website terms do not replace any separate wholesale agreement we make with you.
9. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the designs, branding, product descriptions, photographs and other original content on this website belong to Literary Filth or are used with permission.
You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially use our content or designs without prior permission, except where permitted by law.
10. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for supplying products that comply with applicable UK consumer law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts your statutory consumer rights or any liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events genuinely outside our reasonable control, but this does not affect your legal rights, including your rights where goods are not delivered within the required timeframe.
If an event outside our reasonable control affects your order, we will contact you where reasonably possible and work with you to arrange an appropriate resolution.
11. Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please read it to understand how we use and protect your information.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when our business or legal requirements change. The version published on the website applies to new orders, subject to applicable law and any terms already agreed with you.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
14. Contact us
If you have questions about these terms or an order, please use our Contact page and include your order number where relevant.
